On the Day Urgent Appointments

If you feel you cannot wait for a routine appointment you will be offered an On Day ‘Urgent’ Appointment with the Duty GP. These appointments are offered for urgent issues only, not for ongoing problems.

Appointment times will be allocated for these appointments but may not be the time that you are seen. Please be aware that there may be a long wait to be seen.      You will be asked to attend in the morning up to 1030.

In the afternoons should you have an urgent medical issue that cannot wait until the next morning please telephone the surgery - you may be called back by a Nurse or GP to decide if you need to be seen that day or if the issue can be resolved over the telephone.

Our reception staff are trained to ask brief information from patients as to why the appointment has been requested.  This is to ensure that you receive the most appropriate medical care from the most appropriate health professional.

Any information given by you is treated strictly confidentially.

We cannot be guarantee which GP you will be seen by.

Nurse Clinics

Our nurses see people by appointment for nursing matters such as vaccinations, cervical smears, suture removal, ear wash-outs and dressings, etc. They do not run a walk-in clinic.

Both our GPs and nurses run clinics for chronic diseases. Those people affected will be called up annually for a chronic disease check-up. It is very important that you make and keep appointments for this. If you do not wish to attend these review clinics, we will ask you to put that in writing to us.

Telephone Advice

Telephone advice can be useful for a number of problems. Telephone advice can be given between surgeries by a doctor or nurse. Please phone the surgery to request  telephone advice as early as possible.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
